Rose and Skull Necklace

This 925 silver ring is part of my 'memento mori' collection.
This collection situates itself within the tradition of memento mori, an artistic concept which acts as a symbolic reminder of mortality. Through the creation of hand-carved death symbolism, combined with my own take on impermanence of crumbling, stone-like textures, I offer a fresh reinterpretation of memento mori, that serves as a daily reminder to live our finite lives to the fullest.
I have hand carved the pendant initially in wax, which I then cast in 925 silver using the lost wax casting method. I handcrafted the chain from 925 sterling silver wire.
